2 Corinthians 8:3
Print
For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing to give of themselves,
For according to their power, I bear witness, yea and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord,
For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave voluntarily,
For, as I can bear witness, [they gave] according to their ability, yes, and beyond their ability; and [they did it] voluntarily,
For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
I can testify that, according to their ability and even beyond their ability, of their own accord,
I assure you that they gave what they could afford and even more than they could afford, and they did it voluntarily.
I tell you they have not merely given according to their means, but of their own free will they have given beyond their means.
They gave as much as they could afford and even more, simply because they wanted to.
For according to [their] power, I bear witness, and beyond [their] power, [they were] willing of their own accord,
Because I testify that they gave in accordance with their ability and beyond their ability, of-their-own-accord,
For according to their power (I bear them witness), and beyond their power, they were willing.
I can tell you that they gave as much as they were able and even more than they could afford. No one told them to do this. It was their idea.
Let me tell you this. They gave as much money as they were able to give. Then they gave even more than that! They gave it because they wanted to.
I testify that of their own free will they gave according to their ability, and even beyond their ability,
For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord,
For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord,
I can ·tell you [testify] that they gave as much as they were able and even more than they could afford. No one told them to do it.
For to their power (I bear record) yea, and beyond their power they were willing.
I assure you that by their own free will they have given all they could, even more than they could afford.
I can assure you that they gave as much as they could, and even more than they could. Of their own free will
I testify that, on their own, according to their ability and beyond their ability,
I can tell you that they gave as much as they were able. They gave even more than they could afford. No one told them to do it.
I can testify that by their own free will they have given to the utmost of their ability, yes, even beyond their ability.
Now, my brothers, we must tell you about the grace that God had given to the Macedonian churches. Somehow, in most difficult circumstances, their joy and the fact of being down to their last penny themselves, produced a magnificent concern for other people. I can guarantee that they were willing to give to the limit of their means, yes and beyond their means, without the slightest urging from me or anyone else. In fact they simply begged us to accept their gifts and so let them share the honours of supporting their brothers in Christ. Nor was their gift, as I must confess I had expected, a mere cash payment. Instead they made a complete dedication of themselves first to the Lord and then to us, as God’s appointed ministers.
For to their power, I bear record, and even beyond their power they were willing of themselves,
For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave of their own accord,
I testify that they gave according to their ability, and beyond their ability, by their own choice,
They gave not only what they could afford but far more; and I can testify that they did it because they wanted to and not because of nagging on my part.
Now, friends, I want to report on the surprising and generous ways in which God is working in the churches in Macedonia province. Fierce troubles came down on the people of those churches, pushing them to the very limit. The trial exposed their true colors: They were incredibly happy, though desperately poor. The pressure triggered something totally unexpected: an outpouring of pure and generous gifts. I was there and saw it for myself. They gave offerings of whatever they could—far more than they could afford!—pleading for the privilege of helping out in the relief of poor Christians.
For I bear record that according to their means, and beyond their means, they freely gave,
For—as I can testify—they gave according to their means, and even beyond their means; acting spontaneously,
I assure you that by their own free will they have given all they could, even more than they could afford.
For according to their means, I can testify, and beyond their means, spontaneously,
For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave voluntarily,
For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave of their own accord,
I can testify that they contributed to the limit of their resources, and even beyond,
I can tell you that they gave as much as they were able and even more than they could afford. No one told them to do it.
For I testify, they gave according to their means and beyond their means. They did so voluntarily,
I tell you that they gave as much as they could. In fact, they gave even more than they could. Completely on their own,
For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own,
For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own,
For I bear witness that according to their ability, yes, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing,
They gave as much as they could because they wanted to.
For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will.
For as they were able (I am witness), yea and beyond their ability, they were willing of their own accord,
For, as I can testify, they voluntarily gave according to their means, and even beyond their means,
For, as I can testify, they voluntarily gave according to their means, and even beyond their means,
For, as I can testify, they voluntarily gave according to their means, and even beyond their means,
For, as I can testify, they voluntarily gave according to their means and even beyond their means,
I bear them witness that of their own accord, up to their ability and even beyond their ability,
That according to their ability, I give solemn edut, and ad kdei kach (so much) even beyond their ability, they gave voluntarily and of their own accord,
For to their power I bear record. Yea, and beyond their power they were willing.
For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own free will,
For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own free will,
For I testify that according to their ability, and even beyond their ability, they gave of their own free will—
I watched as they willingly gave what they could afford and then went beyond to give even more.
For according to their power, I testify, yes and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord,
I can tell you because I saw it myself. They gave as much as they could and even more than that. They did it all because they wanted to.
For I bear witnessing to them, after might and above might they were willful [after virtue, or power, and above virtue they were willful],
because, according to [their] power, I testify, and above [their] power, they were willing of themselves,
